It all started with...
a Mandarin-speaking cosmetics formulator?
Yep.
Lori Fenstermaker, Founder

“I am a self-described "old school" recruiter who wasn't interested in becoming an "Internet search guru".
After paying for a class on how to use the Internet to find candidates, I looked through my pages of notes and began to try some of the techniques. Pretty soon I found myself spending more time writing complex Internet search strings than I was calling candidates.
However, I did realize the tremendous opportunities that the Internet offered my recruiting practice. So I decided to have a software company build an Internet search tool to make Internet research easy for me (anyone) to do, but powerful enough to make even the best Internet search experts more efficient.
I originally intended to keep this Internet search tool just for myself and my researcher, use it as a competitive edge, and make a ton of placements. But things turned out differently....
While on-site at one of my clients, they asked for my assistance with a search for a "Mandarin-speaking cosmetics formulator with consumer product experience". When I was able to provide them some possible candidates within a few minutes they demanded to know how I did it. When I told them, they asked about purchasing some licenses of what has now become AutoSearch.”
